OK, we thought we were so smart 6 years ago when we bought a water softener that used potassium pellets instead of salt. Potassium is good for you, salt is not! Flash forward to 2008 where the bags of postassium have gone from $10 a bag to $25. UHG! If you live in Herriman, you don't dare turn your softener off. Otherewise, you end up with brown crusted dishes in the dishwasher and yucky old pipes. (Did Daybreak take our good water.... yes, I think they did.)
So, a call to the water company we bought the water softener from. Oh joy! They are selling their bags for $12 a bag. The catch is you have to buy 10 at a time. So of course, since they are dropping off the bags, we might as well have them check the filters. $230 later.... and there goes that little bit of money I've been saving for Christmas...
It never ends, does it?!!!
